How long have you been in Real Estate & what made you decide on a career in the industry?

I have worked in many industries, the last one before real estate, employment and training. When I was made redundant, my husband at the time said that I should try real estate as he believed that I would be really good at it.

It was something I had thought about but it was not a career I chose as I had a child to consider. When he was 16, I made the decision to pursue it.

What is the dynamic of your team & are you a close team?

I am the Business Owner of Professionals On The Coast with my partner Roy Philpott and we have a team of 5 with 3 of us in Sales and 2 in Property Management. We pride ourselves in working closely together, provide exceptional communication with our clients and as well as making sure our owners have an excellent selling experience and handle all our landlords’ investments with ease making sure it enjoyable and stress-free for them.

What areas do you / your team specialise in & what words of wisdom would you provide to buyers looking in these areas (commercial or residential)?

We sell all over the coast and I specialise Aroona, a suburb in Caloundra. I started marketing in that suburb in 2016 and am proud to say that I have been the No 1 Agent since 2019 and still showing as on REA. I also sell in Golden Beach, Battery Hill, Little Mountain and Caloundra West.

Another agent on the team Zack de Jersey, who is my son is a Kings Beach specialist and sells units in the area from $550,000 - $1,500,000.

What stands out as unique about the suburbs that you work in ?

Aroona to me is a special suburb as there are affordable low set 3 -4 bedroom houses close to the beach, lovely high set properties with ocean views on the elevated streets and then some newer areas where the houses are only 5-10 years old and modern with contemporary finishes. Kings Beach is a tourist haven and there are unit complexes everywhere. There are some old beach shacks that are selling for a fortune to developers and there are luxurious houses on the hill with 180 degree views of the ocean. Zack recently sold a beach shack for $1,520,000

What changes if any, have you seen in the marketplace in relation to latest trends?

There are all sorts of buyers around, we have first home buyers, we have buyers from interstate who are looking for an investment now with the possibility of renovating and moving in a few years, we have downsizers, those experiencing an empty nest , or families who have outgrown their current house, we have Brisbane buyers looking for a beachside retreat and rent it through Air BNB when they are not using it. And of course many developers and flippers.

What was your most memorable sale in recent times & why?

My most memorable sale is 4 Alexander Street in Aroona. The buyers actually came through another property and didn’t quite like it so I told them about another one that was $200,000 more. To my delight, they were interested and when they came for a viewing, there was 10 of them! A doctor and his wife from Maryborough, their adult daughter and two children, their son and family. People everywhere. I never forget the moment the daughter ( when she was in the luxurious kitchen overlooking the pool and the ocean said to her father) “ Oh Dad, you have to get this house for Mum” I knew at once I had them!

What interesting property/ies are you working on now? 

I have a very interesting properties at the moment, 44 Taylor Ave Golden Beach.

This one is a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house in Golden Beach, just 2 streets away from the beach. It was built by the owner in 1992 who passed away many years ago. His wife outlived him and has lived there since. She has recently moved into a unit on her daughter’s property and I was honoured to be chosen to list and market her property. There has been no renovations but it is immaculate and styled beautifully. I have multiple offers on it now and working to get the best price.
